The Tacoma TRD Pro is Named the Mid-size Pickup Truck of Texas

While awards are always nice, there are some that just seem to carry a little more heft. Case in point? The awards handed out by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) -- one of the country's most influential associations of automotive journalists -- at their annual Texas Truck Rodeo. So you can't really blame Toyota for being extremely proud of the fact that the Tacoma TRD Pro pickup truck earned the "Mid-size Pickup Truck of Texas" award for the second straight year.

Conducted at the Long Horn River Ranch near Austin, the event offers more than 70 automotive scribes the chance to assess 60 vehicles during an action-packed two days of off-road driving. The 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro, which is assembled at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Texas facility in San Antonio, offers exceptional off-road performance and is propelled by segment-first Atkinson Cycle V6 engine that makes 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque.

At Bill Kidd's Toyota, we're proud to serve drivers from the Baltimore, Cockeysville, Towson, Belair, Reisterstown and Owings Mills areas.
